Arguably one of Nigeria’s most hardworking legislators, Honorable Adedeji Stanley Dhikrullahi Olajide, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Digital, Information, Communication Technology, and Cybersecurity, is determined to position Nigeria at the forefront of global technological advancement.
His relentless drive to boost the Nigerian tech industry and ignite market interest, both locally and internationally; cannot be overstated.
Fondly called OdidiOmo, Hon. Olajide has remained steadfast in his commitment to this critical sector since assuming office. He firmly believes that Nigeria has the potential to thrive in the digital space, which is why he continues to champion policies that attract investment and drive innovation.
In pursuit of this vision, Olajide recently joined global leaders at the 12th session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP), organized by the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP) in Geneva, Switzerland.
The prestigious event serves as a platform for strengthening international collaboration in promoting stability and harmony worldwide. According to his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Tolu Mustapha, the session brings together parliamentarians from various nations to formulate strategies that foster tolerance and peace.
The GCTP, a global organization dedicated to achieving sustainable peace, holds quarterly sessions of its parliamentary arm, the IPTP, to address critical global challenges, offer strategic recommendations, and enhance diplomatic cooperation.
Hon. Olajide, a key figure in shaping Nigeria’s digital policy framework, is set to showcase the country’s legislative progress in cybersecurity, digital regulations, and public-private partnerships aimed at protecting critical digital infrastructure.
During the conference, he will participate in high-level panel discussions and bilateral meetings, addressing pressing issues such as cyber threats, digital misinformation, digital peacebuilding, and cybersecurity. His contributions will underscore Nigeria’s commitment to parliamentary diplomacy and international cooperation, aligning with the overarching mission of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace.
