In a recent announcement by Mrs. Folashade Arike Ayoade, Ph.D., Secretary to the Government of Kogi State (SSG), Jacob Edi, former Special Adviser on Media and Strategy to former Governor Idris Wada, has been appointed as Special Adviser to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on Information and Communication.
This move comes alongside the appointment of 183 individuals, including 43 Special Advisers and 131 Senior Special Assistants, as disclosed in a press statement released in Lokoja on Saturday.
A seasoned journalist with extensive experience on the job, Jacob Edi has served the Nigeria Union of Journalists in various capacities, including Financial Secretary, Secretary, and Chairman of the Abuja Council at different times in the past.
Among the appointees are notable figures such as Onogwu Isah Mohammed, former Chief Press Secretary to former Governor Yahaya Bello, who now serves as Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Relations.
Additionally, Hon. Idris Ndako, a former member of the Kogi State House of Assembly, has been appointed as Special Adviser to the Executive Governor on Local Government Matters.
In her statement, Dr. Ayoade emphasized the Governor’s call for unwavering dedication to the state’s progress, congratulating all appointees and declaring that the appointments take immediate effect. Additionally, the Governor approved the redeployment of Ahmed Kashim from Personal Assistant to the Governor to Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs.
