A tragic incident has been reported at the UBE Oju Centre in Benue State, where a Junior Secondary School 3 (JSS3) student allegedly beat a teacher to death following a dispute over a confiscated cap.
The student, identified as Friday Ogamude, reportedly confronted the teacher, Mr. Oyibe Oyibe, 35, over a cap that had been seized by the teacher since May 2025. The confrontation allegedly escalated into violence, resulting in the fatal assault of Mr. Oyibe.
Local authorities and school officials are yet to release full details, but the incident has sparked outrage and concern within the community. Investigations are currently underway to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding the attack.
