Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a Lekki-based businessman, Arokodare Damil Ebenezer, in connection with the shipment of 60 parcels of Loud, a potent strain of cannabis, from the United States to Nigeria.

The 43-year-old, who owns Damillionz Takeout, was apprehended at Bay Lounge on Admiralty Way, Lekki, on Monday, March 24, 2025, while awaiting the delivery of his latest drug consignment. His arrest followed the seizure of his cargo, which arrived in Nigeria on March 12 in seven large cartons at a Lagos-based logistics company.

A subsequent search of his Lekki residence led to the recovery of 94 grams of cannabis, a cannabis crusher, and other drug paraphernalia, bringing the total weight of the seized drugs to 32.24 kilograms. In his statement, Ebenezer admitted to being involved in the illicit drug trade since 2017.

Meanwhile, NDLEA officers at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, thwarted an attempt by another businessman, Omoruyi Terry, to smuggle 1,400 pills of tramadol (225mg) weighing 800 grams to Italy. Omoruyi, identified as a frequent traveler and logistics agent based in Italy, was intercepted at the screening point of Terminal 2 while preparing to board a Qatar Airways flight.

Both suspects are currently under investigation as authorities intensify efforts to dismantle international drug trafficking networks.
