In a dramatic turn of events on December 11, 2023, the ongoing rift between Rivers State Governor Mr. Sim Fabura and the majority of the House of Assembly escalated.
A significant move unfolded as 27 out of 32 Assembly members, reportedly aligned with the former state governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, declared their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
