The 27th edition of the annual event, which celebrates music of Black origin, is due to take place in Newcastle for the first time on Tuesday February 18, held at the city’s Utilita Arena.
Jorja Smith, Sampha, Bashy, Ghetts, Cleo Sol, Central Cee and Odeal lead this year’s nominations, having earned three nods apiece. Check out the full list here.
Last month, organisers confirmed that Spice, Krept & Konan and Bashy would all be delivering live performances on the night. Now, it’s been revealed that the likes of Nova Twins and Odeal will also be taking to the stage.
They are joined on the line-up by Darkoo, DJ AG, Pozer and LeoStayTrill.
Additionally, the MOBOs 2025 is set to celebrate UK R&B by bringing together “some of the most powerful voices” from the genre on one stage.
DJ Ace, Jaz Karis, Nao, Sasha Keable, Shae Universe and Shola Ama will unite for a special performance honouring the rich legacy and future of UK R&B.
MOBO Founder & CEO Kanya King CBE said: “MOBO has always been about shaping cultural moments that celebrate the richness and diversity of music, and this year will be no exception. Our R&B celebration promises to be a defining highlight, alongside an incredible showcase of genres on the MOBO stage.
“There’s something truly special about bringing these moments to life—experiences that fans can only witness at the MOBO Awards. We can’t wait to unveil even more surprises as we build up to February 18.”
Karris, Shae Universe and Keable are all in the running for Best R&B/Soul Act. Odeal is also up for the prize, along with Song Of The Year (‘Soh-soh’) and Best Newcomer.
Darkoo, meanwhile, has received nods for Best Female Act and Song Of The Year (‘Favourite Girl’ feat. Dess Dior). Pozer appears in the Best Newcomer and Best Drill Act categories, while LeoStayTrill is up for Best Newcomer and Song Of The Year (‘Pink Lemonade’).
The MOBO Awards 2025 will be live-streamed globally on YouTube at 8pm GMT on February 18. An exclusive broadcast is then scheduled to air on BBC One on February 21.
In other news, Nova Twins recently returned with their first new track in more than two years, ‘Monsters’. Upon its release, the duo spoke to NME about their “chaotic but beautiful” upcoming third album.
“There are so many different flavours, so expect a journey,” teased Georgia South. “There’s a lot of light and shade. It’s also a very honest album.”
Amy Love agreed: “We weren’t chasing specific sounds, we just did whatever felt most exciting. We weren’t scared about where that went either. There are songs like ‘Monsters’ but there’s also a lot of fun as well.”
