…Warns Against Faith-Based Ministry’s Alleged Fake Miracle Products
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has raised an alert over the activities of a faith-based group, Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministries, led by Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin, for allegedly using the agency’s name to promote unregistered miracle products.
In a statement on Sunday, NAFDAC’s Director General, Prof Mojisola Adeyeye, stressed that none of the products being marketed by the ministry are registered with the agency.
“NAFDAC wishes to alert the public on the activities of Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministries, which has been deceiving the public by claiming its products, including Miracle Water and Miracle Soap, are NAFDAC registered,” said Adeyeye.
“The products are advertised with miraculous claims, such as healing barrenness and promising twins to women who use the soap.”
She noted that concerned citizens had submitted petitions regarding the ministry’s promotion of these unverified products, including “Miracle & Healing Water” and “River Jordan Water.”
Upon investigation, NAFDAC discovered that these products were being sold for as much as 3,000 naira each, despite the ministry’s denial of producing them.
“The ministry’s officials refused to cooperate with our investigation, even after we obtained receipts and evidence of purchase. They denied responsibility and asked for more time to respond, but continued to delay the investigation,” Adeyeye added.
NAFDAC has since sealed off a water production facility linked to the ministry and continues its investigation. Adeyeye assured Nigerians that the agency remains committed to safeguarding public health, warning other faith organizations to desist from producing unregulated products.
“None of these so-called miracle products are registered with NAFDAC. We urge the public to avoid them, as our agency is driven by science and facts in product registration,” she emphasized.
