Napoli have formally recalled Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen to join their pre‑season squad ahead of the 2025‑26 campaign under head coach Antonio Conte.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Osimhen will link up with the first‑team group when training begins in mid‑July—around July 14–15, despite spending the 2024–25 season on loan at Galatasaray.

Conte, who guided Napoli to their fourth Serie A title last season, remains under contract through June 2027 after renewing his deal in late May. The Italian tactician now faces the task of reintegrating Osimhen into his squad, even as talks continue over the striker’s long‑term future.

Osimhen’s loan at Galatasaray officially expires on July 1, 2025, but the 25‑year‑old’s path forward remains unclear. A €75 million release clause in his Napoli contract, valid only for clubs outside Serie A will come into effect this summer, giving non‑Italian suitors the right to trigger his departure.

Several potential destinations are being mooted. Saudi Pro League side Al‑Hilal have reportedly agreed to meet the full €75 million clause and are awaiting Osimhen’s approval, while Manchester United are also said to be ready to activate the same fee as they look to overhaul their attacking options.

With Conte keen to assemble a competitive squad and Osimhen weighing his next move, Naples’ summer saga looks set to run deep into August.
