The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, has extended warm Eid-el-Fitr greetings to Muslim journalists and the wider Muslim community across Nigeria, calling for unity, integrity, and a renewed commitment to national progress.

In a goodwill message, the Council’s Chairman, Grace Ike, praised Muslim faithful for their dedication, sacrifice, and spiritual devotion throughout the holy month of Ramadan.

“Ramadan is a period of self-discipline, sacrifice, and devotion to God. As we celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, we must continue to uphold the values of patience, generosity, and compassion that this sacred period teaches us,” Ike stated.

She emphasized the importance of these virtues in both professional and personal conduct, urging journalists to remain committed to truth and justice.

“As journalists, we hold a crucial responsibility in society. Let us use this opportunity to rededicate ourselves to integrity and the pursuit of national unity,” she added.

The NUJ, FCT Council, also encouraged Nigerians to embrace the spirit of Eid by fostering peace, mutual understanding, and social cohesion. Ike expressed optimism that the celebration would usher in renewed hope and prosperity for the nation.

“We urge everyone to celebrate in love and harmony, while reflecting on how we can collectively contribute to our country’s growth and development,” she said.

The Council concluded its message with prayers for continued peace, stability, and prosperity in Nigeria.

“Eid Mubarak to all our Muslim brothers and sisters,” the statement read.
