
In a tribute to his unwavering commitment to Ibadan and his ancestral heritage, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, fondly called OdidiOmo by friends, followers and admirers, the federal lawmaker representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West, is set to receive one of Ibadanland’s highest traditional honours.
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty Oba (Dr.) Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, will confer the prestigious chieftaincy title of Odidiomo of Ibadanland on Hon. Olajide, in recognition of his outstanding public service, loyalty to the city, and enduring connection to its cultural values.
This honour, announced via a letter dated June 27, 2025, from the Olubadan Palace and signed by Prince Olasunmbo Owolabi Olakulehin, Special Adviser to the monarch, also extends to Hon. Olajide’s wife, Alhaja Adenike Shakirat Olajide, who will be installed as Yeye Odidiomo of Ibadanland. The joint recognition celebrates the couple’s shared dedication to the progress and welfare of the ancient city.
The installation ceremony will form part of a landmark celebration marking the Olubadan’s 90th birthday and the first anniversary of his coronation, slated for July 4–13, 2025, at the New Olubadan Palace in Oke-Aremo, Ibadan.
Hon. Olajide, who chairs the House Committee on Digital, Information Communication Technology and Cybersecurity, is widely regarded as a grassroots leader and passionate advocate for the people of Ibadan.
OdidiOmo has also gained national recognition in several categories and fora, for his national assignment of working tirelessly to ensure Nigeria catches up with the rest of the world, in the area of technology.
