As part of the events and activations heralding the much talked about TheatreMania Africa Festival (TAF) come October 14th – 17th, 2025 in Lagos, Nigeria, the organisers have started a Quarterly Stage Production where they bring in top CEOs, busy executives and few Nollywood stars to come and act on stage.
The idea is to drive traffic of lovers of stage plays, lovers of the theatre, lovers of the arts, lovers of creative expressions amongst others to come and watch the production.
The busy executives and the top CEOs are expected to invite their families, friends, colleagues, acquaintances to come celebrate them as they mount the stage to act, display and unleashed creative prowess. The stage play on parade is titled WHISPERS.
Watch mind-blowing dance moves, live music with lots of suspense, thrills and intrigues in the stage-play- WHISPERS!… Get ready to fall in love!
WHISPERS is scheduled to take place on Easter Monday April 21st, 2025 at the Main Hall, Shodex Gardens, 251/253, Ikorodu Road, Ilupeju, Lagos by 3.30pm for Matinee and 6.00pm for the Command Performance.
According to Alayande Stephen T., the Producer of WHISPERS & CEO, TheatreMania Africa Festival (TAF), he said ” WHISPERS is a powerful stage play that depicts and chronicles the current reality of love lust, enmity amongst people. In summary, the play mirrors the cultural dichotomy and beliefs in our society. These are issues the Nigerian families have encountered over time as the actors deliver the plot through, drama, dance and comedy. It speaks to thematic thrusts of love, age long bitterness, generational family feud, unity, perseverance, diligence, powerplay etc.
Listen to the whispers of true love as two families of African origin, with an age long feud battles the greatest force on mother-earth. We will be thematically adding a ”plant a tree” campaign initiative that talks about the importance of the climate change as part of the sub-themes”, he postulated.
The play in itself is didactic, entertaining, comical, musical in nature and yet contemporary in terms of its thematic thrust.
Starring in WHISPERS stage play are Nollywood Superstar, Rotimi Adelegan, Legal luminary & businessman, Otunba Olu Adenodi (Barr.), multiple award winning Horticulturalist and the CEO, Shodex Gardens, Mr. Olusola Adekoya. Also, we have acting on stage, Helen Sosu-Ezirim, Convener, The Street University Project (TSUP) & We Are The POETS, Julius Olaoluwa Oyekanmi, CEO, Finnova Corp & QUIDBOT, Alayande Stephen Tolulope, the Co-Founder, TAF & Black Gold Academy would also be performing too.
In the words of Otunba Olu Adenodi (Barr.), one of the busy CEOs and the Managing Partner, Olu Adenodi & Co, ” I think it’s a great initiative from TheatreMania Africa team to involve rather busy executives who would ordinarily be unable to be part of acting on stage before now but as a way of supporting theatre and other creative endeavours, we are proud to be involved. I last participated in a stage play in secondary school over 45 years ago, so, I’m super excited to be part of WHISPERS and I’ve been rehearsing seriously. So, I will implore you all to come out enmasse to watch the stage production come Easter Monday April 21st, 2025, come with your family and friends to enjoy the play”, he averred proudly.
The play is written by Ola Thompson Tabi and Uwagbai Paul, produced by Alayande Stephen T. and directed by Uwagbai Paul.
