President Bola Tinubu has assured the United States government of his administration’s unwavering commitment to ending terrorism and restoring lasting peace across Nigeria.
Speaking during a high-level meeting with U.S. officials today, President Tinubu reaffirmed that Nigeria is winning the war against insurgency through renewed military strategies, improved intelligence sharing, and regional cooperation.
“We are determined to defeat terrorism and make our country safe for all Nigerians,” Tinubu declared. “My administration is fully committed to ensuring that no part of Nigeria remains under threat from violent extremists.”
The President expressed appreciation for the support Nigeria continues to receive from the U.S. in strengthening its security architecture and enhancing counterterrorism capacity.
“Our partnership with the United States is vital,” Tinubu said. “Together, we can achieve a safer, more prosperous West Africa.”
U.S. representatives commended the Nigerian government’s efforts and reiterated Washington’s readiness to deepen security collaboration with Abuja, particularly in intelligence sharing, technology, and training.
The meeting comes amid ongoing reforms in Nigeria’s defense sector aimed at modernizing equipment, improving troop welfare, and enhancing inter-agency coordination in the fight against terrorism and banditry.
