Billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk has claimed credit for Donald Trump’s presidency, suggesting that his influence was instrumental in securing Trump’s election victory and maintaining Republican momentum.
In a series of posts on his social media platform, X, Musk boldly stated, “If not for me, Donald Trump would be at home right now, watching Kamala Harris lead the country.”
He went on to claim that the Democratic Party would have full control of Congress without his involvement. “Democrats would control the House and Republicans would have a narrow 51-49 majority in the Senate,” Musk wrote.
The comments have added fuel to ongoing tensions between Musk and President Trump, which were already heightened after Musk criticized a recent tax and spending bill pushed through the House of Representatives. Musk described the legislation as a “disgusting abomination.”
President Trump did not stay silent. In a pointed reply, he dismissed Musk’s claims, though the specifics of his response were not immediately made public.
As the political and tech worlds react to Musk’s statements, his role in shaping Republican outcomes continues to draw scrutiny—and controversy.
