The Chairman, Ekiti PDP Caretaker Committee, Hon. Dare Adeleke has urged party members to prepare assiduously for the 2026 governorship election, asserting that God is on the side of the party due to APC’s abysmal failure not only in Ekiti State but nationwide. During a press briefing at the PDP State office in Ado Ekiti, Adeleke emphasized the need for a united front against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), despite the endorsement of Governor Biodun Oyebanji by former Governor Dr. Ayodele Fayose.
He condemned ex Governor Fayose’s anti party moves in his ‘dark romance’ with the APC candidate, Governor Oyebanji stating that despite the betrayal, the PDP is certain to sweep out the ill wind called APC.
“All stakeholders have aligned towards ensuring that members work in unison towards the success of the PDP in 2026.”
Adeleke criticized the current APC administration for the hardships faced by the populace, predicting that these grievances would lead to the ruling party’s defeat in both the upcoming gubernatorial election and the 2027 President polls. He expressed confidence in overcoming internal party conflicts, calling on members to remain steadfast and focused.
The CTC Chairman addressed the recent crisis within the PDP, stating that it should not deter members, as he criticized Fayose’s comments endorsing Oyebanji as “unfortunate, unacceptable, though characteristic of a serial betrayer.” Adeleke however expressed optimism that the party would unite and emerge stronger, reinforcing the idea that APC does not represent the people’s interests: “God has rejected the APC, therefore the people have rejected them. APC stands no chance in the governorship.”
Adeleke concluded that if the 2026 election is based on popular votes, the APC’s chances of victory are next to zero.
