The Senegalese Football Federation has formally rejected a decision by the Confederation of African Football Appeal Board to award the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title to Morocco, escalating a growing dispute over the tournament’s outcome.

In a statement, Senegal’s football authorities described the ruling as unacceptable and confirmed they would challenge it at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), the highest legal body for resolving international sports disputes.

The federation insisted that the decision failed to reflect fairness and due process, signaling its determination to seek a reversal through legal channels. The move sets the stage for a potentially high-profile case at CAS, where the final verdict could reshape the outcome of the 2025 continental showpiece.

CAF has yet to issue a further response following Senegal’s announcement, but the development adds fresh tension to what is already shaping up to be one of the most contentious episodes in recent AFCON history.
