Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday sealed off the Abuja residence of former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, restricting movement across the area.

Eyewitnesses said the anti-graft officials arrived in several buses and swiftly took control of Koranakh Close, off Amazon Street, blocking all entry points into the street.

“They came in large numbers and positioned themselves at every corner. Nobody was allowed in or out,” a resident told reporters.

Another witness described the situation as tense, noting that both residents and visitors were turned back. “The whole street was practically under lockdown. Even people who live there had difficulty gaining access,” the source said.

The EFCC operatives maintained a strong presence throughout the neighbourhood, effectively taking control of the area as security measures intensified.
