I have just read one of the most amusing and perhaps one of the most absurd pieces of political trash to emerge from the camp of the vagabonds and truants currently masquerading as leaders of the PDP in Lagos State.

This collection of political layabouts, whose daily relevance appears tied to genuflecting before the grand nuisance of Abuja, Nyesom Wike, now claims that 23 chieftains of their unrecognised faction of the PDP have purportedly suspended Chief Olabode George through a shambolic disciplinary committee headed by one Kayode Ogunbiyi, who styles himself as chairman.
What an anomaly.
The very idea is so laughable that it would be comedy if it were not such a serious insult to the sensibilities of genuine PDP members and the principles upon which the party was founded.
How can political impostors presume to suspend one of the founding fathers of the party and the acknowledged leader of the recognized Lagos PDP? By what authority? Under which constitution? And backed by what legal standing?
It is worth noting that their scavenger-in-chief, Deji Doherty, is once again up to his familiar antics – staging another round of political theatre, no doubt in a desperate bid to impress his benefactor and position himself for yet another session of fraudulent political patronage.
Doherty and his cohorts know the truth. They know that Wike and the rest of their faction have long lost any moral or legal basis to claim legitimacy within the PDP. Yet they persist in this charade, hoping that repetition of falsehood will somehow transform fiction into fact.
It will not.
Rather than focusing on the enormous responsibilities of governance in Abuja, Wike appears content to continue funding this pitiful spectacle of factional politics and manufactured relevance. As long as the crumbs continue to fall from his table, the scavengers who feed from it will continue organising fake congresses, phoney committees and meaningless jamborees designed solely to flatter their political benefactor.
The latest so-called disciplinary committee is merely another example of this embarrassing circus.
Let it be stated clearly and unequivocally: Chief Olabode George remains the undisputed leader of the PDP in Lagos State. No collection of political opportunists, no matter how loud, can alter that reality.
History, service, sacrifice and legitimacy cannot be erased by press statements issued by political interlopers seeking relevance.
The real PDP knows its leaders. The people know their leaders. And no amount of political gymnastics by Deji Doherty and his associates can change that fact.
