Allied Peoples Movement (APM) presidential candidate and Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has appointed veteran journalist and publisher Mr. Amos Dunia as his Special Adviser, Public Affairs, with immediate effect.

The appointment was announced in a statement issued on Friday by Richard Ihediwa, Director of Strategic Communications, Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organization (MDPCO).

Dunia, a former chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, later served as the union’s National Consultant on Politics and Union Matters.

According to the statement, Dunia has a combined broadcast and print journalism background, having worked with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), the New Nigerian Newspapers, the Sun Newspapers and Blueprint Newspapers. He is also co-founder of Forefront Magazine and its online portal.

“He brings his experience, capacity, skills and connections as a seasoned journalist, public commentator, communication expert and publisher to the Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organization (MDPCO),” the statement said.

As a spokesperson, Dunia joins other professionals on the campaign team in driving the Makinde/Daura “Reset Nigeria” message to secure victory for the APM in the 2027 presidential election.

Makinde also charged members of the campaign organisation, party leaders, supporters of the APM and all Nigerians to remain steadfast in the collective effort.

“The Presidential Candidate charges all members of the Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign, leaders, teeming members, supporters of the APM and indeed all Nigerians to remain steadfast in the collective quest to use the 2027 Presidential election to Reset and put our nation back on the path of stability, national cohesion and economic prosperity,” the statement added.
