The organisers of Big Brother Naija have announced a significant reduction in the prize money for the upcoming Season 9. The winner of the 2024 edition will receive a grand prize of N100 million and a brand new SUV, down from the previous N120 million.

According to our reporter, the show, which premieres on July 28, 2024, and will run for 71 days, will also feature a new twist: contestants will compete in pairs, adding a fresh dynamic to the challenges.

Busola Tejumola, Executive Head of Content and West Africa Channels at MultiChoice, shared insights on the changes.

“The ninth season of the Big Brother Naija show will be going beyond drama; we will be bringing in different blends of unique entertainment,” she said. “The show will run from July 28 to October 6. The challenging aspect of the show will be that the housemates will be going into the house in pairs and doing some of the house challenges in pairs.”

Tejumola added, “Everyone curious for the theme should watch out for the premiere on Sunday, July 28. The show holds lots of fun, vibes, emotion, drama, dynamics, and intriguing twists.”

The reduced prize money and new competition format have generated buzz among fans, who are eagerly anticipating the start of the show.
