ABUJA – Less than 24 hours after a fatal truck explosion at Karu Bridge, another truck has overturned at the same location, causing significant traffic congestion along the Nyanya axis.
Eyewitnesses shared videos on social media showing the truck lying across the road, blocking vehicles and forcing commuters to navigate alternative routes.
A motorist, Musa Ibrahim, who was caught in the traffic, expressed frustration: “This is becoming too frequent. Just yesterday, we saw the terrible explosion, and now another truck has fallen. Something needs to be done about safety on this road.”
Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other security agencies are at the scene, working to clear the overturned vehicle and restore normal traffic flow.
An FRSC officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the incident, saying, “Our men are on the ground to ensure the road is cleared as soon as possible to reduce the inconvenience to motorists.”
The accident has further worsened traffic in the area, with commuters experiencing long delays. Authorities are yet to provide details on the cause of the crash or any potential injuries.
