The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) Africa has celebrated its 30th anniversary in Nigeria, marking three decades of impactful ministry through media and humanitarian outreach. Founded by Pat Robertson in 1960, CBN has inspired and provided hope to millions of Nigerians and Anglophone West Africans.
At a press conference held at the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) secretariat in Abuja, Dr. Felix Oisamoje, Regional Director of CBN Anglophone West Africa, reflected on the organization’s journey in Nigeria. He noted that CBN’s programs have been aired in Nigeria since the 1980s, with the official registration of the organization occurring in 1994.
CBN Africa’s media initiatives include well-known programs such as the children’s show *Superbook*, *700 Club Nigeria*, *Living the Life*, and *Flame TV*, a family-oriented, faith-based channel launched in 2020 that provides wholesome content for all age groups.
Beyond media, CBN’s humanitarian arm, Operation Blessing, has offered significant aid to victims of natural disasters and insurgent attacks, supported vulnerable families, and provided clean water to rural communities. Additionally, they have conducted life-saving surgeries and established clinics in underserved areas across Nigeria.
Dr. Oisamoje affirmed CBN Africa’s commitment to continuing its mission to transform lives and prepare nations for the return of Jesus Christ. He expressed gratitude to the media for their ongoing support and called for further collaboration to extend the reach of CBN’s ministry.Comrade Ochiaka Ugwu, Secretary of the NUJ FCT Council, praised CBN Africa for its positive contributions, urging the organization to stay focused on its mission and avoid distractions.
The 30th-anniversary celebrations will include a range of events, such as a symposium, concert, stage play, road walk, and visits to orphanages. CBN Africa remains dedicated to spreading God’s love and transforming lives across Nigeria and West Africa.
