The FCT Administration (FCTA) took a significant step towards enhancing transportation safety and efficiency in Abuja with the inauguration of a private sector transportation initiative on Tuesday.
This initiative, marked by the introduction of 14 high-capacity, air-conditioned buses, aims to tackle the persistent issue of crime, particularly the notorious “one-chance” syndicate plaguing the city.
During the inauguration ceremony, Arc. Ubokutom Nyah, the Mandate Secretary of Transportation for the FCTA, emphasized the vision of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to revolutionize Abuja’s transportation landscape.
Nyah highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts with private sector investors to establish a robust and secure mass transit system. “This initiative not only aims to eradicate criminal activities but also to provide residents with reliable and affordable transportation alternatives”. He concluded.
