Former Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) spokesperson Jonas Agwu, along with two other senior officers, has been forced to retire. The other officers affected by this decision are Deputy Corps Marshals Kingsley Agomoh and Zubairu Mato, despite having years left before their scheduled retirements.

FRSC spokesperson Olusegun Ogungbemide, in a statement, announced that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, approved the appointment of five assistant corps marshals (ACM) to the rank of deputy corps marshal (DCM) on July 21, 2024. This move aims to fill existing vacancies in the South-South, South-East, South-West, North-Central, and North-West geopolitical zones.

The newly appointed deputy corps marshals include Clement Oladele, representing the North Central geopolitical zone, and Chidiebere Nkwonta, representing the South-East geopolitical zone. Sunday Iyamah has been appointed to fill the vacancy in the South-South geopolitical zone.

Additionally, MR Yerima will represent the North-West geopolitical zone, and Abiodun Akinlade will represent the South-West geopolitical zone once DCM Adebisi Kazeem retires in August.

The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Shehu Mohammed, has approved these deployments.
