The operation targeted a location known for harboring drug users and traffickers, leading to multiple arrests.

In a statement released on Friday, the task force spokesperson, Abdulraheem Gbadeyan, confirmed that the misconduct was captured on Closed Circuit Television (CCTV).

“Both individuals, serving as paramilitary officers within the agency, were subjected to a meticulous investigation by the agency’s disciplinary committee,” Gbadeyan said.

“Upon confirmation of their guilt, they were summarily dismissed from service and will face immediate prosecution for theft.” The Chairman of the task force, CSP Adetayo Akerele, condemned the officers’ actions, emphasizing the agency’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

“Any breach of ethical conduct will attract severe consequences,” Akerele stated. “This agency is guided by principles of discipline, equity, and justice, and we will not tolerate any act that compromises our credibility or erodes public trust.”

The raid also resulted in the demolition of shanties and drug hideouts in Gowon Estate, as part of ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crimes.

Gbadeyan revealed that 43 suspects were apprehended during the operation and have been promptly arraigned in court. “In a related development, 53 individuals apprehended in earlier raids have been remanded at the Badagry Correctional Centre following their court appearances,” he added.
