The father of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Promise Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, is facing a N200 million defamation lawsuit from the management of the deceased Nigerian musician.
Last week, Mohbad’s father claimed in an interview that his 26-year-old son left behind an unsigned thumbprint-only will.
In response, Mohbad’s management refuted the allegation, deeming the purported will as unprecedented and unreal. The management has initiated legal proceedings against Mohbad’s father, demanding a retraction of what they consider “slanderous” remarks and a public apology.
Additionally, they are seeking N200 million in damages, stating in a letter, “You are to publish the same unqualified apology within 14 days of this letter with payment of N200,000,000 (Two hundred Million Naira) through this honourable chambers (Bankole Falade & Co) within the set period.”
