Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has returned to Nigeria and declared his mission to expel killer herdsmen from Yorubaland during his mother’s burial in Igboho, Oyo State.
Addressing the gathering, Igboho expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s response to killer herders, urging local communities to take charge of their security. He emphasized unity, stating, “Let us mount security in all the Yoruba lands ourselves; if not, they will take our lands.”
Igboho highlighted farmer hardships due to herders’ activities, criticizing the deployment of police and soldiers, particularly in Ekiti State, where monarchs were killed. He called for collective action to counter herders’ encroachment and safeguard Yoruba communities.
Refuting claims of working for politicians, Igboho questioned if he could work for politicians and whether they would still want him dead. He asserted, “I am not working for any politician,” expressing readiness to take steps against marauders’ activities in Yoruba lands.
