APC Italy Coordinator, Comrade Kennedy Nosa, expressed his confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s ability to handle the removal of fuel subsidy and implement measures to alleviate its impact during an exclusive interview with Paparazzi Online in Abuja on Sunday.
According to Comrade Nosa, who is also the National Coordinator of Tinubu/Shettima Supporters Forum Worldwide, “While the removal of fuel subsidy poses challenges, I believe they can be overcome in due course.”
He called on Nigerians to exercise patience with President Tinubu’s administration, emphasizing that this decision was made in the best interest of the country.
In his inaugural speech on May 29, President Tinubu had stated that the Federal Government could no longer sustain fuel subsidy. Consequently, the price of petroleum was adjusted to N540 per litre, a significant increase from the previous price of N195.
However, this move has been met with opposition from the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
The NLC has announced plans for a nationwide strike on Wednesday to pressure the government into reversing the decision. They have made it clear that they will not back down unless the government and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited revert to the previous petrol price.
Comrade Kennedy Nosa concluded, ” I’m appealing to all Nigerians to maintain patience and understanding during this challenging situation.”
