The Isokoko Division of the Lagos State Police Command conducted a raid on a house in Agege suspected of producing counterfeit beverages. SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the operation on Thursday, March 21, through a post on his social media account, along with accompanying video footage.
Hundeyin stated that during the raid, four individuals suspected to be the ringleaders of the illicit distillery were apprehended, and a cache of fake drinks was seized, among other items.
In a tweet, Hundeyin wrote: “Officers from the Isokoko Division, acting on reliable intelligence, raided a residence in Agege where counterfeit alcoholic beverages were being manufactured. The police arrested four individuals involved in the illegal operation and confiscated fake drinks, as well as empty bottles and labels from various brands. Investigations are ongoing.”
