The leader of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore group, Bello Bodejo, has been brought before a Federal High Court in Abuja, accused of terrorism-related activities.

He allegedly established and supported an ethnic militia group called Kungiya Zaman Lafiya. Bodejo pleaded not guilty to the charges and was ordered to remain in custody by Justice Inyang Ekwo.

The trial is set to commence on May 27. Bodejo’s arrest came after Miyetti Allah launched a vigilante group in Nasarawa State to combat insecurity.

Despite filing a fundamental rights suit challenging his detention, the court granted the government permission to detain him pending further investigation.
