Famous Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, recently shared an intriguing anecdote about his experience on the set of the movie ‘Coming 2 America.’
In a candid conversation on the Drink Champs podcast, hosted by N.O.R.E and DJ EFN, Davido revealed that he had the opportunity to work alongside the legendary American actor, Eddie Murphy, without even realizing it.
Recalling his cameo appearance in the film, Davido expressed his excitement about being a part of the project.
He enthusiastically shared, “You know I was in ‘Coming to America 2.’ I’m in the movie. In the part of the wedding, I’m the one performing.”
The singer revealed that the shooting took place at Tyler Perry’s renowned studio, adding to the overall grandeur of the experience.
However, what truly amazed Davido was the realization that he had been sharing the set with Eddie Murphy himself, completely unaware of the Hollywood icon’s presence.
He reminisced, “It was dope to shoot. We shot it at Tyler Perry’s studio… Do you know that I was shooting with Eddie Murphy for two days and I didn’t know he was the one.
He was behind me, I will never forget.”It wasn’t until Davido was about to complete his final scene that he finally recognized the familiar face behind him. He excitedly exclaimed, “‘Yo D!’ I looked back and said, ‘Ah! Eddie Murphy!’ Yeah, it was just amazing.”
