The Lagos State Government on Tuesday, May 12, commenced confirmation examinations for no fewer than 7,992 public service officers across various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the State.

The week long examinations is expected to end on Tuesday, 19th May, 2026

The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, while monitoring the exercise at the Public Service Staff Development Centre, Magodo, Lagos disclosed that this is part of efforts by the State government to strengthen professionalism, productivity and effective service delivery within the public service.

According to the Commissioner, the examination is aimed at assessing the competence, suitability and understanding of public service responsibilities by the officers, while also evaluating how well they have aligned with the vision and mission of their respective MDAs.

He noted that the exercise would further encourage officers to reflect on productivity and improve service delivery across the State’s public institutions.

“All candidates participating in this exercise have so far demonstrated commitment to public service, and I am confident that their performance will reflect their preparedness and dedication to duty,” Alli-Balogun stated.

Also speaking on the examinations, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, , explained that the examination was designed to assess officers’ understanding of the fundamentals of the public service and their capacity to effectively manage official responsibilities.

She urged the officers to continue to uphold the ethics and integrity of the public service while striving for greater achievements in their respective MDAs.

Dokunmu-Adegbite also commended the Lagos State Examinations Board for the seamless organisation of the exercise.

In his remarks, the Registrar of the Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Adebayo Orunsolu, praised the candidates for their discipline, dedication and orderly conduct in the ongoing examination process.

The Lagos State Government remains committed to building a professional, efficient and result-oriented public service capable of delivering quality governance to residents across the State.
